Articling Student Position

Job Summary

As an Articling Student, you will play a vital role in preparing client accounting, tax engagements, and advisory services. You will be able to work on various engagements, including compilations, reviews, audits, and tax filings. Additionally, you will be involved in tax planning initiatives for corporate and personal income tax clients and assist with client advisory services such as valuation, retirement planning, and tax reorganization.

 

Key Responsibilities

Client Engagements:

  • Assist in preparing client accounting engagements, including compilations, reviews, and audits.
  • Prepare client tax filings, including T1 (individual), T2 (corporate), T3 (trust), T4 (employment income), and T5 (investment income).

Bookkeeping Assistance:

  • Assist with client bookkeeping as required, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.

Tax Planning:

  • Assist in tax planning initiatives for corporate and personal income tax clients.

Client Advisory Services:

  • As required, assist at a junior level with client advisory services such as business valuation, retirement planning, and tax reorganization.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with team members to deliver high-quality services to clients. Communicate effectively with clients, ensuring clarity and understanding of engagement objectives and requirements.

Skills/Education

  • Bachelor of Commerce degree with pre-requisites for CPA Preparatory Program
  • Strong research skills with the ability to synthesize complex information clearly and accurately
  • Effective verbal communication skills for client interactions and team collaboration
  • Highly organized with keen attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Proactive learner eager to gain practical experience across various topics
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing positively within a team environment
